MailBounce is a developer-first email-verification platform built on a simple idea: you should only pay for answers you can actually act on. Real-time API, bulk list cleaning, and a free playground to try before you commit a single credit.
We built MailBounce because email verification had drifted away from the people who actually use it. Bounced messages quietly wreck sender reputation, inflate costs, and skew your metrics, yet most tools treat the developer as an afterthought, hide their billing logic, and charge you the same whether they return a confident verdict or a shrug. We wanted something cleaner: a transparent, modern alternative with a clean JSON API and pricing you can reason about.
So we focused on the two things that frustrated us most: clarity and fairness. Every validation runs through layered checks, from syntax and MX lookups over DNS-over-HTTPS to disposable and role-account detection, free-provider flags, did-you-mean typo suggestions, and a live SMTP mailbox check. But we also drew a hard line on billing. Only definitive verdicts cost a credit: you spend one credit per address each time you validate it. If we can't give you a real answer and return 'unknown', you pay nothing. Every account also gets 100 free credits each month, and the free playground never touches a credit. You shouldn't fund our uncertainty.
We're honest about where we are: MailBounce is newer and smaller than the incumbents, and we'd rather earn your trust than borrow it with inflated claims. That's why there's a free playground that needs no credits, a public API base, and pricing with no surprises. We're building the verification tool we always wanted to integrate ourselves, and we'd love for you to try it and tell us where it can be better.

Three principles shape every decision we make — from how we verify an address to how we bill for it.
